Grow to Door
Our Story
Shoji-Nouen is a long-established grape farm located in Yamanashi, Japan, home of the best grapes in the world, nicknamed the “Kingdom of Fruit” and for good reason.
Here at Shoji-Nouen, we produce high-quality grapes such as Shine Muscat, Kyoho, My Heart, and Black King.
After over 50 years of growing these fine grapes, our family has decided to make an online presence, offering the opportunity for future consumers to experience the taste they deserve, grown right here at our farm and sent directly to your home or business, like our slogan states, “Grow to Door”.

Types of Grapes
We Offer

Shine Muscat
Since its introduction in 2006, Shine Muscat has become one of the most sought-after grape types, not only in Japan but also in overseas markets.
Here at Shoji-Nouen, Shine Muscat saplings were obtained at an early stage from JA Fruit Yamanashi, an agricultural cooperative also located in Yamanashi prefecture.
For this reason amongst others, this makes our seedlings very pure, which in return enables us to produce very large, seedless, and tasteful Shine Muscat, unlike many others in the marketplace.

Kyoho
Kyoho, also known as the “king of grapes”, is a specialty of Makiokacho, Yamanashi City, where Shoji-Nouen is located. During the summer in Makioka, the temperature rises during the day and falls drastically at night. This temperature difference gives the Kyoho sweetness and the strong sunlight makes the Kyoho darker.
For over 50 years our family has produced delicious Kyoho, and because of gained experience and knowledge passed down from previous generations, we’ve been able to produce “seedless” Kyoho for the past 20 years. Although this is more of a time-consuming process than having seeds, it makes for a more enjoyable fruit.

My Heart
This particular species of grape is very rare and unknown to many living outside of Japan or even Yamanashi for that matter. It is a cross between “Wink” x “Shine Muscat,” birthed right here in Yamanashi Prefecture.
Just as the name states, My Heart grapes have a unique heart shape, are sweet in taste, seedless, and can be eaten with the skin. Our family started growing My Heart over 5 years ago and this year will be the first for sale, but very limited supply.
